Bridgehampton, New York

This primary goal for this project was to refresh the front garden, creating an entrance sequence that felt fresh and modern, while staying true to the traditional Hampton’s style architecture of the home and setting. The color palette was kept simple, with a focus on textures. The formal structure of clipped boxwoods contrasts against the soft flow of grasses, creating a sort of sculptural tableau. Plantings are 70% native species, supporting local biodiversity. Water features were included to dampen the noise of the nearby highway, giving visitors the multisensory experience of truly entering a retreat.

Construction is underway, as is a design for the backyard of this summer residence.
